Yankees think windup tweak will fix this struggling starter

Sonny Gray worked with pitching coach Larry Rothschild on Monday to alter his delivery after another rough start against Boston, when he gave up six runs in just three innings.

Boone said the adjustment is in Gray’s windup with his hands.

“We think it might allow him to be a little more athletic,’’ the manager said. “We think that’s one of his strengths.”

“He feels good about it,” Rothschild said of the adjustment.

“It’s a variety of things,’’ Rothschild said of the right-hander’s struggles.
