Yankees 0, Blue Jays 3: CC Sabathia pitches seven scoreless innings, offense does nothing

The Yankees had a chance to even out this series against the Blue Jays today but instead they were shut out in their third consecutive game. Not only was the offense bad, but the Yankees wasted a terrific start by CC Sabathia. This was just Sabathia’s sixth scoreless outing of the season, and the Yankees were only able to muster three hits in the game. Although not yet mathematically eliminated, the Yankees’ postseason hopes are slipping further and further away.

In the second inning, Aaron Hicks hit a single off of Marcus Stroman.
