Pittsburgh, Northwestern to meet in Pinstripe Bowl

The New Era Pinstripe Bowl is set.

No. 23 Pittsburgh will face Northwestern at 2 p.m. ET on Dec. 28 at Yankee Stadium.

The Panthers, who went 8-4 this season, will make their ninth consecutive bowl appearance, and 33rd in program history. Pittsburgh finished 5-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference's Coastal Division, and it was the only team in the nation to defeat two "Power 5" conference champions: No. 2 Clemson of the ACC and No. 5 Penn State of the Big Ten.

"Congratulations to our student-athletes and coaches for finishing an exciting regular season on a fantastic high note and earning a Tier One bowl bid," said Pittsburgh's athletic director Scott Barnes in a news release.
