Past playoff rainouts haven’t been kind to Yankees

A look at how playoff rainouts have affected the Yankees in subsequent playoff games since division play began in 1995:

Oct. 8, 1996, ALCS Game 1 vs. Orioles at Yankee Stadium: Joe Torre had hoped to avoid having to use Kenny Rogers in this series, but with no off-day between Games 3 and 4, he was forced to use Rogers in Game 4. Rogers was shaky, allowing four runs over three innings, but the Yankees got two homers from Darryl Strawberry to power to an 8-4 win and a 3-1 series lead.
