HOUSTON — The Yankees’ starting rotation depth is set to be challenged.

Starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery left his start Tuesday night after only one inning, citing left elbow tightness. The southpaw will return to New York on Wednesday to undergo an examination by team physician Christopher Ahmad.
