How Tim Tebow will work out — with Yankees, Mets watching

LOS ANGELES — Tim Tebow’s Big Apple football stint underwhelmed, to be generous. Could he find New York redemption on a baseball diamond?

When Tebow holds a one-man showcase Tuesday, in Southern California, the Mets and Yankees will be among those with a scout on hand, according to multiple industry sources. FanRag Sports’ Jon Heyman first reported the Mets’ interest in Tebow.

Tebow, who played the outfield as a junior at Allen D. Nease High School in Florida, will run a 60-yard dash, catch fly balls and throw to the bases and take two rounds of live batting practice, the latter against more advanced pitchers who will not tell him what pitch is coming.
