Charleston RiverDogs Donate Profits From Game To City Fund

New York Yankees Single-A affiliate, the Charleston RiverDogs, had a game scheduled Thursday night against the West Virginia Power. Just a day after the mass-shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, a game was the last thing on everyone’s minds. However, with a good cause to support their decision, the RiverDogs decided to proceed with the game, and do what they could to help support those of their town.

They had to first consult with Charleston officials and law enforcement before deciding to carry out the game. After granted permission, RiverDogs GM Dave Echols spoke out on their decision to play just a day after the tragedy.
