Cashman says Drury still in mix as Yankees’ 3B intrigue grows

WASHINGTON — Yankees general manager Brian Cashman called Brandon Drury “a major leaguer right now, but because of the unique circumstances of where we’re currently at with this roster, we had a choice to make and we optioned him out.”

Drury’s rehab assignment ended Monday after he was on the disabled list due to migraines and blurred vision, and the Yankees decided to keep Miguel Andujar in the majors.

“Miguel Andujar has come up and done a nice job for us,’’ Cashman said before the Yankees’ suspended game against the Nationals on Tuesday. “We’ll let Brandon continue, at least for a period of time, at Triple-A, just given the fact we have a pretty strong roster right now.
