NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman won’t be afraid to put CC Sabathia in the bullpen.
Speaking to Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday, Cashman said money won’t be an issue if the former Cy Young winner can’t secure a starting spot in the rotation.
“The money is not going to be an issue. I would have to be comfortable with it because there’s no other place to put him,” Cashman said, as Sabathia is set to make $25 million this season. “He does get lefties out. It’s stuff that we’d have to deal with if that’s the decision we go.
