The Yankees have had Brian McCann available in the trade market for weeks now, and the Braves have expressed interest in a reunion.
But there are complications.
1. McCann has a full no-trade clause and consistently has expressed how much he loves playing for the Yankees. However, he does still live in Atlanta in the offseason.
2. McCann is owed two years at $34 million after this season, and the Braves value him as roughly a $10 million-to-$12 million player annually and want the Yankees to eat about $5 million annually. The Yankees’ current position is they are not eating any money on contracts.
