Yankees News: Jorge Posada Critical Of Yankees Management In New Book

Former New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada has taken New York Yankees management to task in his new book, "The Journey Home: My Life In Pinstripes."

Posada never had the best working relationship with manager Joe Girardi, and that came to a head for the beloved Yankees backstop when he was unceremoniously transitioned from catcher to designated hitter in 2011.

Here's some excerpts on the subject from the book, via the New York Daily News:

"When you take me out from behind the plate, you're taking away my heart and my passion.

"I knew that my role with the club was changing, but I don't think that anyone making those decisions knew how much the things being done hurt me.

“To have even that taken away from me without adequate explanation, hurt me and confused me.

“If I wasn't even considered third-string, then what was I? How did I fit in?

“I felt like I wasn't being treated right, that people weren't always being as straightforward with me as I wanted them to be or treating me as I deserved to be treated, and I exploded.

“I'd just put up with enough."

While the team was reportedly trying to protect him from concussions with the move from catcher to DH, Posada still felt slighted by the lack of communication and said so in his book.
