Gregorius’ glove only makes Yankees’ problems worse

With a runner on first and no out in the third inning, the Rangers’ Delino DeShields sent a ball up the middle. First, Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia waved at it and missed. Shortstop Didi Gregorius got to it and seemingly tried to flip the ball from his glove behind his back for a forceout. The ball never made it to the base and the play was ruled a hit.

“I was trying to make a play. I thought CC had it but he put his glove up, was trying to catch the ball and make a play but it didn’t happen,” Gregorius said.
