The US Beach Soccer Team had higher hopes for the 2017 CONCACAF Championship than the fifth-place playoff, but it ran into Panama in the quarterfinals and Los Canaleros have now beaten three of the top four teams (Costa Rica in the group stage; the US in the quarterfinals; El Salvador in the semifinals) in CONCACAF on their surprise run to the tournament final (and the 2017 Beach Soccer World Cup).
Panama will play the region's top team, Mexico, in the Championship final. The USA has won through to a playoff for fifth against the Bahamas after beating Jamaica, 6-2, in the first round of consolation games for the tournament's beaten quarterfinalists.
