Rangers use first alumni weekend to raise money for charities

The joy doesn’t end just because the body starts breaking down.

That was the hopeful message attempting to be driven home by the Rangers with the first of what is likely to be many alumni weekends, targeted at raising money for the organization’s youth hockey initiatives that grow the game in the New York area.

So the graying Blueshirts took on the elder Bruins, first in Waltham, Mass., on Saturday, and then the second leg of the back-to-back on Sunday afternoon at the Garden.
