The New York Rangers inked center Steven Fogarty of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to a two-year entry level deal today, according to Renaud Lavoie.

Fogarty, the Rangers third-round pick in 2011 who turns 23 in April, just completed his senior season with the Irish. He picked up 23 points in 37 games for Notre Dame, helping them reach the NCAA tournament where they lost in overtime to Michigan and fellow Rangers prospect Boo Nieves.

With the prospect pool looking pretty dry at the moment thanks to a handful of promotions and a few departures, there should be opportunity for Fogarty and other fresh faces to make the transition to a full-time role in Hartford.
