After losing their captain David Backes in the offseason and star defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk to the Capitals and now the New York Rangers, the Blues still managed to make the playoffs in 16-17. In the first round they played the Wild, and even though the series ended in five games, it was a lot closer than it looks. In fact, for the majority of the time, the Wild were the better team.
Jake Allen just wouldn’t let them score.
