After officially retiring from the NHL exactly a week ago today, Kevin Klein has decided to continue his hockey career and signed a one-year deal with the Zurich Lions of the Swiss National League. The Lions announced the signing of Klein through their official Twitter account, and mentioned that it will be a one-year deal for the ex-Ranger.
When rumors first surfaced about Klein leaning towards retirement about a month ago, Larry Brooks hinted that Klein would possibly seek employment overseas. Klein struggled with nagging back injuries most of last season, and appeared in only 16 games this season before being a healthy scratch for all but one playoff game.
