GREENBURGH — Yes, Rangers GM Jeff Gorton said on Saturday, he heard the talk about making massive changes to his roster when last season ended. Yes, he admitted, he even considered it.
But Gorton managed to skillfully do a makeover on the fly, building a younger, deeper, faster team in a league where teams can go from first to worst, or vice versa, in a calendar year.
“We’re excited about the changes we were able to make,” Gorton said. “I think there were a lot of people that thought we could make a wholesale, change-everything. But we’re comfortable with our roster right now and we’ll see where it goes from there.
