Dylan McIlrath’s pending return may be aging Ranger’s relief

Dylan McIlrath, who missed his 10th straight game Sunday night at the Garden against the Penguins, still has not received the medical green light to return as he rehabs the right knee injury he suffered on a hit from the Islanders Cal Clutterbuck at the Garden on March 6.

“He has been cleared for contact and cleared for practice, and at some point before next weekend, I would expect that Dylan would be cleared to play,” coach Alain Vigneault said before his team’s 3-2 overtime defeat. “It’s not 100 percent, but [I think so].”

The Rangers play one game before then, Thursday night at Carolina.
