Be like ’94? Rangers need to unleash killer instinct

Somehow, it always seems to circle back to 1994.

It was 1994 when the Rangers won their last Stanley Cup. You may even have heard about that.

It was 1994 when the Rangers won their last President’s Trophy before this year’s squad duplicated the feat.

And, it was 1994 when the Rangers last won the opening two games of a playoff series at the Garden, doing it twice in fact by double-dipping against the Islanders in Round One and then the Caps in Round Two.

Since then, the Blueshirts have opened eight playoff rounds at MSG, including this one against the Penguins.
