A seat at Citi Field next week will be the hottest ticket in town – and possibly the most expensive baseball ducat ever.
The Mets’ first home game of the 2015 World Series is still a week from Friday, but the cheapest seats on secondary ticket sites Thursday are already listing in the mid-$700 price range.
List prices could spike to astronomical levels should New York sweep the opening two road games — putting itself in prime position to win it all at home.
Ticket-price analysts at TiqIQ.com, which has tracked World Series prices since 2010, said these Mets get-in prices would top the current all-time high — set by fans attending the 2010 Fall Classic in San Francisco, between $575 and $650.
