Once regarded as a better pitching prospect than Jacob deGrom, Rafael Montero has been very unimpressive in his time with the New York Mets. After his start last night, in which he pitched just three innings, Sandy Alderson has finally seen enough to send Montero back to Las Vegas.
Montero will be replaced on the 25-man roster by right-handed pitcher Tyler Pill.
