Vargas allows four runs in another short outing

Mets LHP Jason Vargas allowed four runs on six hits in four innings on Tuesday night against the Reds.

Vargas allowed a pair of runs in the first inning and another two in the third inning. Eugenio Suarez was responsible for three of the four runs allowed by Vargas, who has yet to complete five innings in a start this season.

Suarez drove in Jose Peralza and Scott Schebler in the first inning to give the Reds a 2-0 lead, then extended Cincinnati's lead in the third inning when he lined an RBI single to center to put the Reds up 3-0.
