Tie-breaker tickets on sale Thursday

The Mets announced Tuesday that tickets to a potential 2016 National League tie-breaker game will go on sale this Thursday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m., online at Mets.com/tickets.

The team also said it will soon e-mail season and plan ticket holders with information about an exclusive presale opportunity.

What happens in a two-team tiebreak scenario?

The Mets won four of seven games against the Giants this season. So, if the two teams end up tied with the same record, the Mets own the tie-breaker.

However, the Mets and Cardinals split the only six games they played this season, leaving their tie-breaker up in the air.
