The Mets are in the postseason for the second consecutive year and will face the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night at Citi Field in the National League wild card game.

It will be a matchup of the senior circuit’s last two champions.

On Aug. 20, the Mets had lost the first two games of their series with the Giants in San Francisco and were 60-62 and 5 1/2 games out of a wild card spot. The Mets went 27-13 the rest of the way, the best record in the majors over that span.
