Before the defending NL-champion Mets begin spring training, general manager Sandy Alderson took a swing at some Q&A with Post columnist Steve Serby.

Q: Thoughts on World Series-or-bust. Is that fair? Or is it something you’re just going to have to live with?
A: (Smile) I guess we’ll live with it to the extent that it’s being portrayed that way. For some reason, I’ve never felt that winning the World Series is the only definition of a successful season. But there are degrees of success. You get close and then lose, you don’t feel good about it.
