Rays rumor involves Conforto, d'Arnaud

Rays fan and FanSided author Althea Pashman says there is talk in Tampa that the Mets and Yankees may have interest in trading for left-handed starting pitcher Drew Smyly.

Smyly is expected to early roughly $7 million next season, during what will be his second year of salary arbitration. He is scheduled to be a free agent after 2018.

Pashman feels the best possible match would result in the Rays dealing Smyly to the Mets for C Travis d'Arnaud and OF Michael Conforto.

This makes a lot of sense for the Yankees, especially if it includes Brian McCann.
