No serious thought given to sitting Lucas Duda in Game 5

LOS ANGELES -- New York Mets first baseman Lucas Duda is 2-for-15 with nine strikeouts in the division series. Yet while there was internal discussion about whether it made sense to replace him in the starting lineup for Game 5 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the talk did not go far.

Duda remains at first base for Thursday's winner-take-all game at Dodger Stadium. The alternative would have been starting Kelly Johnson at second base and moving Daniel Murphy over to first base.

"Kelly hasn't played. Not that it wouldn't work, but Lucas has been the guy," manager Terry Collins said.
