The Mets have traded right-handed relief pitcher Yohan Ramírez to the Orioles for cash. Earlier this week, the Mets designated Ramírez for assignment, one of several moves that has seen the team be aggressive about churning the last couple of spots in its bullpen.
Just a couple days ago, the Mets traded fellow right-handed reliever Michael Tonkin to the Twins for cash, having designated him for assignment shortly ahead of that trade.
In his very brief time as a Met, Ramírez made a name for himself when he threw a pitch behind the irritating Rhys Hoskins.
