Mets offense supports Harvey, who isn't his sharpest in win

METS 9, PHILLIES 4

Matt Harvey knew it was coming. The Mets big right-hander has reluctantly accepted there would be ups and downs this season as he returned from Tommy John surgery. He knew that there would be nights like Wednesday when he struggled and knew there would be another day down the stretch when he would have to be skipped because of innings limits.

Hours after Mets manager Terry Collins confirmed that Harvey would be skipped for a second start, Harvey had his first really rough night since June, but the Mets’ bats picked him up as the Mets beat the Phillies 9-4 at Citi Field.
