Mets get a bad break with 'Utley Rule' ruling

NEW YORK -- New York Mets manager Terry Collins lost his shortstop to a broken leg during the National League Division Series last October because of Chase Utley's slide into Ruben Tejada.

After an offseason rule was enacted to protect middle infielders, now Collins has lost an "Utley Rule" challenge. And as a result of Corey Seager's third-inning slide into second base being ruled legal after a replay review, Utley -- of all people -- was the one to score the opening run of an eventual 4-2 win by the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Mets on Sunday night.
