Dominic Hamel shined on SNY (the game was broadcast there, due to the Mets playing during the day), and did his best Christian Scott impression, nearly mirroring the top prospect’s performance from the night before. Hamel struck out 10, allowing three hits, two runs, and walking just one in five innings, eerily similar to Scott’s 10 strikeout, two hit, one run, one walk showing.
Unlike Scott, though, he did not earn the win. He did leave the game with a 3-2 lead, two of those runs coming on a Ben Gamel home run, and the third on a Luisangel Acuña single.
