Mets bats go cold in loss to Phillies, presented by W.B. Mason

After scoring 21 runs and winning the first two games of the series, the Mets' bats fell silent in a 5-1 loss to the Phillies on Sunday afternoon at Citi Field.

In case you missed it…

  • The Mets had the bases loaded and one out in the first and runners at second and third with one out in the second but mustered one run on Curtis Granderson's sacrifice fly. New York had only three baserunners after the second inning.
  • In his first Major League start, Robert Gsellman allowed one run on four hits through six innings before things fell apart in the seventh.
