Jeurys Familia's second weekend flop sends Mets to defeat vs. Dodgers

NEW YORK -- Generally sturdy Jeurys Familia flopped twice in non-save situations this weekend. Curtis Granderson bailed out the closer on Friday. This time, Granderson’s would-be heroics only put Familia in the position to fail.

Entering for the ninth inning with the score tied Sunday night, Familia proceeded to load the bases and then surrendered a two-run single to Adrian Gonzalez. That lifted the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-2 win against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Granderson had delivered a game-tying RBI triple with two outs in the eighth against left-handed reliever Adam Liberatore immediately after Clayton Kershaw mercifully had departed.
