Mets OF Jay Bruce has struck out seven times during his last eight at-bats.
According to Mets manager Terry Collins, hitting coach Kevin Long and assistant hitting coach Pat Roessler have been looking back at Bruce's at-bats to see if he has changed anything since joining the Mets. He said they found one minor flaw, but it's so insignificant it wasn't worth mentioning.
Bruce had been hitting .265 with 25 HR and 80 RBI for the Reds before he was dealt to the Mets on Aug. 1. In 23 games after the trade, he is batting .
