SAN DIEGO — As the Mets’ season has crumbled, Jacob deGrom has stood apart.

He is the only member of the rotation to make every start this season. He is the only one of the projected seven starting pitchers to avoid the disabled list. He is the only one to pitch up to his talent.

With eight stout innings in the Mets’ 5-3 win over the San Diego Padres on Monday, deGrom tied a single-season franchise record with eight consecutive starts with a victory. Tom Seaver (1969), David Cone (1988) and Bobby Jones (1997) also accomplished the feat.
