GEICO SportsNite: Dr. Richard Diana talks Harvey's injury

Matt Harvey has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder discomfort, the Mets announced.

Harvey has been referred to Dr. Robert Thompson in St. Louis for an examination that will take place on Thursday, the team said.

The Mets believe Harvey could have thoracic outlet syndrome, according to David Lennon of Newsday.

Dr. Thompson, according to his profile on the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis website, specializes in vascular surgery and thoracic outlet syndrome. Dillon Gee saw Dr. Thompson in 2012 to have artery damage repaired in his shoulder after doctors removed a blood clot.
