Daniel Murphy’s injury dampens Mets’ blowout win

It’s not a real party until somebody limps out the front door.

The Mets were having a blast Wednesday, hammering rookie Aaron Nola and on their way to beating the Phillies for a 14th time in 16 meetings this season. But the music stopped briefly, disrupting the Mardi Gras that Nola was providing, for Daniel Murphy to limp from the scene.

On a night Matt Harvey slogged through 6 ¹/u2083 innings in the Mets’ 9-4 victory over the Phillies, there was some level of concern about Murphy, who departed with what the team called “mild discomfort” in the left quadriceps.
