Alderson talks 2016 expectations, cancer battle and more

Sandy Alderson talked about expectations for the Mets this season and his personal battle with cancer in a wide-ranging interview with New York Post columnist Steve Serby (Feb. 13).

The Mets general manager said it's "World Series or bust" for the defending National League champions, who open spring training Thursday in Port St. Lucie.

Alderson, 68, who was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer just days after the Mets clinched the National League East title, has continued to work while underdoing chemotherapy treatment.

". . .There wasn't a lot of time to fully enjoy winning the National League East.
