A) … turn in the inevitable stinker that even very, very good baseball teams will turn in over the course of six months and 162 games.
B) … expose in the harsh light of a Sunday night baseball game and ESPN’s prime-time cameras the flaws that yet exist and need to be addressed, specifically up-the-middle defense and errors of both omission and commission.
