Thanks to Wilmer blast, Mets get something right

There were many shocking developments in Friday’s Mets game.

First, we learned Gary Cohen does not know his Honeymooners (I wonder how Howie Rose took that news). I mean, everyone in their late 40’s and beyond who grew up in the NYC area knows every Mooners episode line by line, right?

Then (and I shouldn’t really be shocked by this) there were some Mets fans on Twitter ripping Terry Collins for keeping Matt Harvey in to face Yunel Escobar (they were calling for Clippard). Clearly, those folks are either dopes or just hate everything Collins does.

Now, the game did have some normal stuff like the Mets not being able to hit and Jerry Meals making a mess of things behind home plate, but the most shocking aspect of Friday’s game – and perhaps an omen that things are changing around here – is that the Mets actually turned a negative into a positive.
