Former NBA general managers Otis Smith and Milt Newton have met with Sacramento Kings officials about the franchise's vacant Vice President of Basketball Operations job, league sources told ESPN.
The Kings are searching for a new No. 2 executive to report to general manager Vlade Divac.
Kings VP of Basketball Operations Scott Perry left for the New York Knicks earlier this month.
Newton is also a candidate for the No. 2 job under GM Jon Horst in Milwaukee, a search that includes former New York and Toronto GM Glen Grunwald, league sources said.
