Kyrie Irving being traded to the New York Knicks always seemed unlikely. The only asset New York can offer is Carmelo Anthony, and he only has one destination in mind, and it isn’t Cleveland.
According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, Anthony’s “top destination in any trade remains the Houston Rockets.” The previous reports of a Melo-for-Kevin Love swap that spread like wildfire during the season seem like a lifetime ago.
A lot’s changed since then. Love isn’t on the trade block anymore. Irving put himself there.
Now, Anthony, is 100 percent focused on Houston.
