New York Knicks: Indiana Pacers Let Frank Vogel Go

The search for the next head coach of the New York Knicks became significantly more interesting on Thursday, May 5. Frank Vogel became a hypothetical candidate earlier this week, but the possibility still remained that he would return to coach the Indiana Pacers in 2016-17.

During Larry Bird’s annual end-of-the-year press conference, the Pacers’ team president announced that he would not be extending Vogel’s contract into the 2016-17 season.

Let the games begin.

Vogel checks all of the boxes on what Phil Jackson has been searching for in a head coach. The Wildwood, New Jersey native is from the area, has been praised for his adaptability, and has shown a willingness to run the Triangle Offense.
