According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, LaMarcus Aldridge was “excited” to meet with the New York Knicks during free agency but when it became clear that he would have to play center to accommodate New York’s rookie; Kristaps Porzingis, the cancellation of the meeting became “mutual”.
“I was excited to meet with them.”
“They were saying they wanted me to be more of a center to let their guy develop and I just wasn’t looking to be that,”
“So I was looking to play power forward, and they weren’t really interested.
