Ron Baker, Chasson Randle, and J.P. Tokoto entered the 2016 NBA preseason as roster hopefuls. Though all three played well, it was Ron Baker who made the final cut to become an official member of the New York Knicks.
Though Randle may have failed to, he’s gained seemingly invaluable support from within the organization.
Randle burst onto the scene at the 2016 Summer League, when he stepped as a scorer, facilitator, and defender. He carried that success over into the preseason, but suffered a left orbital fracture that opened the door for Baker to earn the roster spot over him.
