Carmelo opts to stay with Knicks in heated sitdown with Phil Jackson

Sports

Carmelo Anthony is not ready to give up on the Knicks.

Anthony met with team president Phil Jackson on Tuesday, and the meeting was described as “more contentious” than previous ones, according to a source of ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. But in the sitdown, Anthony was asked point-blank by Jackson if he wanted to stay with the Knicks and reaffirmed his commitment to the beleaguered franchise, according to The Vertical.

Anthony has steadfastly refused to waive his no-trade clause, and the latest rift with Jackson has apparently done nothing to change his mind.
