Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks’ two stars, are off to Toronto for All-Star Weekend with heavy hearts to match Anthony’s sore knee.
The miserable moods of Porzingis and Anthony were representative of the entire locker room on Tuesday – morose over the firing of Derek Fisher, very concerned about the Knicks sliding into the abyss after a 1-10 stretch put them in 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
“We all need a break away from this sometimes, and this break couldn’t have come at a better time,’’ said Anthony, who plans to rehab his knee in Toronto and start in Sunday’s All-Star Game.
