With Steve Kerr firmly in the New York Knicks' rear-view mirror, president of basketball operations Phil Jackson may be looking to take a new tact in the team's search for former head coach Mike Woodson's replacement.

Per RealGM.com, via information obtained from ESPN's Marc Stein, "the New York Knicks will likely pursue a young head coach that Phil Jackson has previously worked with and whom he can mentor."

Derek Fisher, one of Jackson's former cornerstones for his five NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, is mentioned as a possibility -- along with Tyronn Lue, Mark Madsen, and Luke Walton.

Jackson could also look to experienced coaches who have worked under him as assistants, such as Bryan Shaw and Kurt Rambis.

As RealGM.com notes, "Shaw was Jackson's longtime preferred successor with the Los Angeles Lakers."
