Most alarming issue to come out of Knicks’ mediocre offseason

In an indication of a star-less July, the Knicks never met with free agent LaMarcus Aldridge, their conference scuttled Thursday.

According to a person familiar with the situation, Knicks president Phil Jackson canceled the meeting, not the other way around.

The Knicks were informed they weren’t in Aldridge’s plans and the Zen Master had no time for courtesy pow-wows.

Jackson had too many roster spots to fill, and added another Saturday by signing Queens product Kyle O’Quinn, a promising young 6-foot-10 power forward/center who started 17 games for the woeful Magic last season.

But as many lunchpail role players with which Jackson is filling out the roster, the alarming issue of Jackson’s July is the stars did not come close to considering New York.
